Libby Beatty, chair of the board of MBA, indicated that the Alliance intends to give substantial support and assistance to the coalition and the businesses in order to publicize their plight. “Ardmore is the tip of the iceberg, a problem that can affect any of our 4,000 member businesses throughout the region - their businesses and their homes. The small business community needs to go on the offense and it should begin doing so right here,” said Beatty.
MBA will be communicating the nature of this issue to its Ardmore member businesses, area non-member businesses and its 4,000 member small businesses throughout the region. “Any business can find itself in the same situation,” said Beatty. MBA intends to lobby all concerned legislators in the impacted area. Those unwilling to support and protect the disrupted businesses will be targeted for additional discussion with their constituents.
