Local business organization finds
“Speed dating” concept helps local businesses introduce themselves
KING OF PRUSSIA – May 23, 2006 – On May 17, 2006 a special networking event for more than 65 businesses in the region was hosted by Midlantic Business Alliance (MBA) in conjunction with CORT Furniture in King of Prussia. The event was coordinated by MBA’s Chester County Business Connections Group, which gathers twice a month to exchange sales leads and is led by Craig T. Postlewait of Building Solutions Construction Group, Inc.
Using a concept similar to “speed dating” each attendee met in quick one-on-one encounters with the other attending businesses. Each attendee also left with contact information to follow-up with other participants.
MBA spokesperson Gayle Haeffner reported that the organization intends to present additional speed introduction events, which they have branded “Instant Intros.” She said, “Speed dating is just another form of marketing and any novel networking strategy can become a part of a forward-thinking entrepreneur’s sales strategy. The next event at the Country Squire Diner in Broomall is already filled to capacity." Haeffner indicated that MBA is also planning one-on-one lunch meetings for businesses interested in making or obtaining personalized presentations on services and products from other businesses.
CORT Furniture in King of Prussia, a member of MBA’s Chester County Business Connections Group, generously donated the space and the refreshments for the event.
MBA has more than 4,000 member businesses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
